Metadata display

User level: Site Owner; Site Administrator; Site Editor; Site Author

The Metadata display widget outputs the information entered into a page's metadata (in the page edit mode > Details tab) on the page so it can be viewed by your website's visitors.

This widget is particularly useful for Article pages, Event pages, and Person pages, and is added to these types of page by default.

The Metadata Display widget is present on Article, Event, and Person pages by default. The widget outputs any relevant metadata (see metadata outputs for each content type, below) that has been entered on the page's Details tab (in the page's editing screen).

  • (1) Widget 'Title' field

  • (3) Widget width options: Full width; Standard; Narrow

The Article metadata which are displayed by the widget are:

  1. Publication date (mandatory input). The publication date can be set not to appear in the metadata display
  2. Author name (optionally entered). The author name is entered using the 'Authors' taxonomy

Legend:

  1. Publication date (mandatory input). The publication date can be set not to appear in the metadata display
  2. Author name (optionally entered). The author name is entered using the 'Authors' taxonomy

The Event metadata which are displayed by the widget are:

  1. Event date and time (mandatory input). The date and time are either displayed using the default date & time format or using the custom format, which can be set when entering the Event date
  2. Event location (optionally entered)
  3. Event presenter (optionally entered)
